How do I manage HomeKit settings in the Arlo app?

You can use the Arlo app to change the HomeKit settings of the Arlo cameras that you connected to HomeKit. This article shows you how to edit a HomeKit Home, Room, and connected Arlo device.

Manage HomeKit-enabled devices

To change the room an Arlo device is in:

  1. Launch the Arlo app.
  2. Tap Settings > HomeKit.
  3. Select a device under DEVICES ADDED TO HOMEKIT.
  4. Under ROOMS, select a new room for the device.
    Your settings are automatically saved.

To rename an Arlo device for HomeKit:

  1. Launch the Arlo app.
  2. Tap Settings > HomeKit.
  3. Select a device under DEVICES ADDED TO HOMEKIT.
  4. Tap the device’s name next to Device Name.
  5. Type a new name for the device.
  6. Tap Done on your device’s keyboard.
    Your settings are automatically saved.

To remove a device from HomeKit:

  1. Launch the Arlo app.
  2. Tap Settings > HomeKit.
  3. Select a device under DEVICES ADDED TO HOMEKIT.
  4. Tap Remove Device at the bottom of the screen.
  5. Read the pop-up banner.
  6. If you’re sure you want to remove the device, tap Remove Device.
    The device is removed from HomeKit.

Manage HomeKit Homes

To add a Home:

  1. Launch the Arlo app.
  2. Tap Settings > HomeKit.
  3. Tap the Settings icon at the upper-right corner.
  4. Tap the + icon next to New Home.
  5. Type a name for the Home.
  6. Tap Continue.
    Your new Home is added.

To edit a Home name:

  1. Launch the Arlo app.
  2. Tap Settings > HomeKit.
  3. Tap the Settings icon at the upper-right corner.
  4. Select a Home from the list.
  5. Tap the Home’s name next to Home Name.
  6. Type a new Home name.
  7. Tap Done on your device’s keyboard.
    Your settings are automatically saved.

To delete a Home:

  1. Launch the Arlo app.
  2. Tap Settings > HomeKit.
  3. Tap the Settings icon at the upper-right corner.
  4. Select a Home from the list.
  5. Tap Remove Home at the bottom of the screen.
    The Home is deleted.

Manage HomeKit Rooms

To add a Room:

  1. Launch the Arlo app.
  2. Tap Settings > HomeKit.
  3. Tap the Settings icon at the upper-right corner.
  4. Select a Home from the list.
  5. Under the ROOMS section, tap the + icon next to New Room.
  6. Type a name for the Room.
  7. Tap Continue.
    Your new Room is added.

To edit a Room name:

  1. Launch the Arlo app.
  2. Tap Settings > HomeKit.
  3. Tap the Settings icon at the upper-right corner.
  4. Select a Home from the list.
  5. Under the ROOMS section, tap the Room’s name next to a Room Name.
  6. Type a new Room name.
  7. Tap Done on your device’s keyboard.

To delete a Room:

  1. Launch the Arlo app.
  2. Tap Settings > HomeKit.
  3. Tap the Settings icon at the upper-right corner.
  4. Select a Home from the list.
