How do I reset my Arlo Video Doorbell? - Arlo Secure 4.0

Resetting your Arlo Video Doorbell returns it to default settings. Your camera is also removed from your Arlo account when you reset it. This means that you must follow the in-app setup process to use your doorbell after a reset.

If your Arlo Video Doorbell is online, reset the device in the Arlo Secure App:

  1. Launch the Arlo Secure App.
  2. Tap Devices.
  3. Tap the device card for your doorbell.
  4. Tap Settings icon
  5. Tap the device name at the top of the Device Settings screen.
  6. Tap Remove Device.

If your Arlo Video Doorbell is offline, perform a factory reset on the device using the reset button.

For the Arlo Video Doorbell (2nd Generation):

  1. Locate the release pin that came with your Arlo Video Doorbell.
    Alternatively, you can also use a paper clip or a similar object.
  2. Press and hold the Reset button on the back of the Arlo Video Doorbell for about 15 seconds.

    The LED in front of the device flashes amber when it successfully begins the reset process. After the reset is complete, the LED turns to blue and it is ready for pairing.

For the Arlo Essential Video Doorbell Wire-Free and Essential Video Doorbell Wired:

  1. Locate the release pin that came with your Arlo Essential Video Doorbell.
    Alternatively, you can also use a paper clip or a similar object.
  2. Press and hold the Reset button on the back of the Arlo Essential Video Doorbell for about 15 seconds.

    The LED ring around the doorbell button on the front of the device flashes white when it successfully begins the reset process.

After you reset your doorbell, you must add it to your account again:

  1. Launch the Arlo Secure App.
  2. Tap Devices.

  3. Tap Add icon
  4. Tap Doorbells & Chimes.
  5. Select your specific Video Doorbell model.
  6. Follow the in-app instructions.
