How do I trigger the floodlight on my Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight Camera?
You can manually trigger your floodlight or set it to trigger automatically when motion is detected, audio is detected, or when a device cross-triggers the floodlight.
Manual trigger
You can manually activate the floodlight on your Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight Camera by tapping or clicking the on/off switch in the Arlo app.
To manually turn the floodlight on or off for your Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight Camera:
- Launch the Arlo app or log in to my.arlo.com.
The Devices page displays. - Tap or click the On/Off switch on the device card to turn on or off your floodlight.
Note: If you do not manually turn off the floodlight, it will stay on for 1 to 20 minutes. To change the amount of time that the floodlight stays on, visit How do I adjust the light settings on my Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight Camera?. - To increase or decrease the floodlight brightness, tap or click and drag the slider to the right or left.
Note: Increasing the brightness uses a greater amount of battery life.
A countdown timer appears next to the light switch when the light is turned on. When the timer ends, the light turns off.
Automated trigger and cross-trigger
You can set the floodlight on your Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight Camera to activate when motion is detected, audio is detected, or when someone presses your Arlo Video Doorbell or Audio Doorbell. You can also cross-trigger your Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight Camera when motion or audio is detected on a different Arlo camera or doorbell.
To set your floodlight to automatically trigger when motion or audio is detected:
- Launch the Arlo app or log in to my.arlo.com.
- Tap or click the Mode tab.
- Select your Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight Camera or the base station it is connected to.
- Tap or click the pencil (edit) icon, next to an existing mode, or tap or click Add a Mode.
- Follow the Arlo app instructions to set your floodlight to activate when motion and/or audio is detected.
If you are editing an existing mode, tap or click the pencil (edit) icon next to each rule that you want to edit.
When your Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight Camera is set to the armed mode that you created, the floodlight turns on when motion and/or audio is detected.
To automatically cross-trigger the floodlight and/or camera:
- Launch the Arlo app or log in to your Arlo account at my.arlo.com.
The Devices page displays. - Tap or click the Mode tab.
- Select your Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight Camera.
Note: Your Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight Camera must be connected to the same Arlo account as the Arlo camera that you want to use for cross-triggering. - Tap or click the pencil (edit) icon, next to a mode, or tap or click Add a Mode.
- Follow the Arlo app instructions to activate your Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight Camera when motion or audio is detected on a different device or when someone presses your Arlo Video Doorbell or Audio Doorbell.
If you are editing an existing mode, tap or click the pencil (edit) icon next to each rule that you want to edit.
