How to Upgrade
- Launch the Arlo Secure App.
- Tap Upgrade Now.
- Read and swipe through the carousel of screens about personalizing your home security with new tools and features.
- Tap Start Upgrade.
- When the Ready to upgrade? message displays, tap Upgrade.
- If you receive warnings regarding firmware, devices offline, custom modes, or unsupported devices; tap Maybe Later and address the issues or tap Upgrade Anyways if you are okay to proceed.
- Tap Start Upgrade.
- Tap Finish.
Why the upgrade?
The new Arlo experience gives you easier controls and more convenient ways to manage your security. Plus, new features are only available with the latest app version.
Will I lose any video recording?
No. If you currently have cloud video recordings, you will continue to have them.
Will upgrading require a subscription?
Upgrading your Arlo app to the latest version will not require you to purchase a subscription. There are, however, some new features that are only available with an Arlo Secure Plan.
Devices
Device card overview
Get a detailed overview of your devices and quick access to settings or live streaming with each card.
Device details
Access device controls, along with live video and audio streaming.
Device Settings
Access full control of your Device Settings such as Night Vision, Activity Zones, Mode Settings and more.
Rearrange devices
You can always rearrange the order of your devices anytime by tapping the edit icon.
Feed
Clip view
Subscribers can view and swipe through 30 or 60 days of video recordings, snapshots, and other events.
Calendar & Settings
Quickly find events by going to specific dates. A blue dot under the date indicates events are available.
Selecting events
Swipe left to manage the individual event. Swipe right to select multiple events.
Local Storage
Select products can store events locally. Toggle between cloud or device storage events.
Routines
Managing your Modes
Program your Modes to record when your device detects motion, and add entry/exit details to automatically arm or disarm your system or perform other actions.
Automations
Automatically change the Mode when you arrive or leave, or change mode with a Schedule. Automate your devices to do what you want, when you want.
Edit Rules
Each Mode lets you set up Rules to control your devices. Choose which cameras detect motion, record, or take other actions. Options vary by device.
How Routines Work
Schedules and geofencing are now event-based rather than modes. They can function together or independently.

Changing your mode from the Dashboard is the quickest way to control the devices at your location.

Create widgets from your favorite devices and arrange them however you prefer.

Customize widget sizes to fit your preference and choose the best view for your Dashboard.
Locations
If you have multiple devices in different areas, you can group your devices based on physical location, such as Home, Office, or Cabin. You can also find your friend's location with their shared devices here.

With Privacy centre you are in complete control of your security and your personal data. Easily delete your Cloud content, shared users, devices or resent your devices to their factory settings.
