How does the Arlo Pro 5 Camera use 5GHz Wi-Fi networks?

If you are connecting your Arlo Pro 5 Camera directly to a Wi-Fi router, you can directly connect to both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi networks. We recommend you connect your camera to both your 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi networks to get the best connectivity.
Note: Your mobile device and Arlo camera must connect to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network during the initial installation.

If your 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi networks share the same SSID and password, the camera will automatically join both networks during installation.
If your 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi networks do not share the same SSID and password, you will be asked if you want to setup a 5GHz network at the end of installation on your 2.4 GHz network. To set up 5GHz:
1. In your camera’s notifications, tap Set Up Now.

2. Tap Continue to allow your camera to connect to your 5GHz network.
3. Select a Wi-Fi network and tap Continue.
4. Enter password and tap Continue.
5. Arlo will begin looking for your camera.
6. Tap Finish.
To add your 5GHz Wi-Fi network settings after installation:
1. Open the Arlo Secure App or log in to my.arlo.com
2. Tap on Devices.
3. Tap on the camera to edit.
4. Tap to enter Device Settings.
5. Tap on Wi-Fi Network.
6. Under 5 GHz Network Connection, tap on Set up.
7. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the 5GHz network setup.
