How do I mount my Arlo Essential Video Doorbell?

This article provides instructions for mounting your wired or wire-free Arlo Essential Video Doorbell. The wire-free version of the Arlo Essential Video Doorbell can be set up in either a wired or wire-free configuration, whereas the wired version can only be set up in a wired configuration. All the items that you need to mount your doorbell came in the box with your Arlo Essential Video Doorbell.
To mount your Arlo Essential Video Doorbell, you need the following:
- Arlo Essential Video Doorbell (wired or wire-free)
- Doorbell mounting plate
- Angled mounting plate (optional)
- Screws and wall anchors that came in the package
Note: Wall anchors are recommended when mounting the doorbell on drywall, brick, or tile. - Wire extensions and wire nuts (for the wired configuration only)
- Philips-head screwdriver
- Power drill
- 6mm (15/64-in) drill bit for wall anchor holes
To mount your Arlo Essential Video Doorbell:
- If you are using wall anchors, drill two holes into the wall with a 6mm (15/64-in) drill bit in the location where you plan to mount your Arlo Essential Video Doorbell. For more information, visit: How do I use the wall anchors that came with my Arlo Video Doorbell?

- Align the mounting plate on the wall and use a screw driver to tighten the screws that came with the Arlo Video Doorbell.
- If your doorbell requires wiring, connect the wires to your doorbell.
Note: Make sure the power is off at the breaker. Do not touch any doorbell wires while power is on. - Place the doorbell on the mounting plate in an up-and-in motion.
