Arlo can't discover my SmartHub or Base Station during installation; what do I do?

This article is for Arlo SmartHubs and Base Stations with one LED. If you have an Arlo Base Station with three or more LEDs, visit: Arlo can’t discover my Base Station during installation; what do I do?
- If Arlo was unable to locate the Arlo SmartHub or Arlo Base Station, follow the steps below.
To troubleshoot Arlo SmartHub or Base Station discovery problems:
- Unplug the power adapter of your Arlo SmartHub or Base Station and make sure the ethernet cable is connected.
- Begin the installation process again, but make sure to connect the Arlo SmartHub or Base Station to your router before you power on the SmartHub or Base Station.
For more information about connecting your Arlo Base Station, visit: How do I connect my Arlo SmartHub or Base Station to the Internet? - If Arlo still cannot discover the Arlo SmartHub or Base Station, check the color of the Internet LED on the Arlo SmartHub or Base Station:
- If the Internet LED is Solid Blue - the Arlo SmartHub or Base Station is connected to the internet.
- If the Internet LED is Solid Amber - there is a network connection problem.
- Make sure the ethernet cable is securely plugged into the Arlo SmartHub or Base Station.
- Confirm the Internet is working by testing another device.
- Reboot the Arlo SmartHub or Base Station after making network adjustments.
- If the Internet LED is alternating Blue and Amber - the Arlo SmartHub or Base Station is updating its firmware.
- Wait unitl the update is done before trying again.
- Make sure the router is operating correctly.
- Confirm the router is operational by accessing the Internet using other devices.
- If you are using a Mesh system, make sure the Arlo SmartHub or Base Station is connected to the main router during installation.
- Factory reset the device.
- Press and hold the Reset button located at the back of the Arlo SmartHub or Base Station for 10 seconds using a paper clip or pen until the LED blinks Amber.
- Once the LED stops blinking, the Arlo SmartHub or Base Station will reboot.
- Readd the Arlo SmartHub or Base Station to your system when the LED turns Blue.
