How do I connect my Arlo Camera or Video Doorbell to an Arlo SmartHub or Base Station?

Follow these instructions if your Arlo Camera or Video Doorbell is currently set up and directly connected to a router, and you want to switch to an Arlo SmartHub or Base Station.
- If your Arlo Camera or Video Doorbell is not already set up, visit: How to set up Arlo Cameras and select the appropiate link or instructions for your specific Arlo device. For best results follow the instructions in the Arlo Secure App to install the Arlo device.
Before you begin:
- Install an Arlo SmartHub or Base Station first.
For more information, visit: How do I connect my Arlo SmartHub or Base Station to the Internet? - Make sure your device is compatible with your Arlo SmartHub or Arlo Base Station on your Arlo account.
For more information, visit: Arlo SmartHub and Base Station Compatibility - To avoid losing your Arlo Secure trial, add your Arlo devices to the same account that they were originally connected to.
To connect your Arlo Camera or Video Doorbell to an Arlo SmartHub or Base Station:
Note: You must remove your Arlo device from your account and reinstall it to switch your Arlo device from a direct to Wi-Fi connection to an Arlo SmartHub or Base Station connection. You may also want to take note of your existing Rules for your Arlo device so you can reconfigure the settings after reinstallation.
For the Arlo Secure App with Feed:
- Launch the Arlo Secure App.
- Tap Devices.
- Select your Arlo Camera or Video Doorbell.
- Tap
- Tap the device name at the top of the Device Settings screen.
- Tap Remove Device at the bottom of the Device Info screen.
Your device is reset and removed from your account.

Note: Make sure the correct Location where you want to add the device is selected. For more information, visit: How do I switch my Location in the Arlo Secure App? - Select your Arlo Camera or Video Doorbell from the list.
- Follow the in-app instructions to connect your Arlo device to an Arlo SmartHub or Base Station.

For the Arlo Secure App with Library:
- Launch the Arlo Secure App.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap My Devices.
- Select your Arlo Camera or Video Doorbell.
- Scroll to the bottom of the Device Settings screen, and tap Remove Device.
Your device is reset and removed from your account.
Note: If you need to manually reset your Arlo Camera or Video Doorbell, visit: How do I factory reset and re-sync my Arlo camera? or How do I reset my Arlo Essential Video Doorbell? - Reinstall the Arlo Camera or Video Doorbell from the Devices screen by scrolling to the bottom of the screen and tapping Add New Device.
- Select your Arlo Camera or Video Doorbell from the lists.
- Follow the in-app instructions to connect your Arlo device to an Arlo SmartHub or Base Station.
