How to troubleshoot Arlo Essential Outdoor Series Camera (2nd Generation) charging issues?
If you are having problems charging the battery for the Arlo Essential Outdoor Camera 2K (2nd Generation), Essential XL Outdoor Camera 2K (2nd Generation), Essential Outdoor Camera HD (2nd Generation), and Essential XL Outdoor Camera HD (2nd Generation), try the following:
- Ensure you are using the USB-C charging cable that was included in the box with your camera.
Note: The USB-C charging cable that came with your camera is for indoor use only.
WARNING: If the charging cable is damaged, do not use the cable to charge the camera. - Ensure you are using the correct type of AC power adapter.
Note: The AC power adapter should have an output of at least 1.0A. Using a power adapter rated lower than 1.0A is not sufficient enough to properly charge the camera in a timely manner. The preferred AC power adapter should have an output of 5.0V and 2.0A. - Check the charging cable connection between the camera and power adapter to make sure it fits securely into each port.
Note: The camera LED will flash blue for three seconds when the charging cable is properly connected. A battery charging icon will also display for your camera in the Arlo Secure App. - If the camera is not charging, try plugging the AC power adapter into a different power outlet.
- If the camera is still not charging, try using a different USB-C cable from another Arlo camera or another device.
- If the above steps do not resolve the issue, ensure the metal contacts of the USB-C charging cable are free from dirt and debris to ensure a secure connection.
